Cold War follows the story of a freelance journalist who finds himself in the midst of an international conspiracy that aims to control the U.S.S.R. Twelve hours after arriving in Moscow for a routine story, he has been stripped of all possessions, beaten unconscious and thrown into the KGB's political prison. Using only recovered weapons and improvised gadgets, he must now evade or overcome elite Soviet forces and defeat the conspiracy before he is sent to a Siberian prison camp or killed. “War, huh, what is it good for?” – Edwin Star, War from the album War and Peace Well apparently, it’s good for good times. War games are all over the map. So, to honor our ever-present source of joy and soul-crushing doom, Mac Gamer HQ presents you with a four-star general overview of the best war games for Mac.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 brought along two new weapons. One of them - the MAC 10 - instantly became one of the best SMGs in the game. Here's our setup guide for it.
Black Ops Cold War received quite a bit of criticism shortly after its release. A huge part of it was for its lack of content. Season 1 went a long way to correct that. Two new weapons lurked in the huge update and one of them is our focus today - theMAC 10 SMG.

Image GalleryView GalleryThe Best Assault Rifles in Black Ops Cold WarThe MAC 10 is unlocked at level 15 of the Season 1 Battle Pass and has the highest rate of fire in a class already recognized for that in particular. The balance comes from lower damage and higher recoil. That's of no huge consequence though. The MAC 10 is designed for close quarter engagements, and it absolutely excels there. It is perfect for smaller maps and those that prefer to be in the opponent's mug at all times.
MAC 10 Setup
With these attachments, we reduce recoil without losing speed. As you should never pull the MAC 10 out at anything beyond short range, this is really the only reasonable approach to attachments.
- Muzzle: Infantry Compensator
- Barrel: 6.1' Reinforced Heavy
- Body: Steady Aim Laser
- Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip
- Magazine: 43-round Drum
Since the recoil of the MAC 10 is mainly vertical, we reduce it by 12% with the Infantry Compensator. The barrel increases the range by 18% and the projectile acceleration by 80%. To always be in the middle of the action and close to the enemy, we increase our overall movement speed when aiming, sprinting and firing by 3% with the bruiser grip.

Since things always get a bit more hectic in close combat, we add a laser to the Mac 10 to increase our accuracy from the hip by 15% and take a 43-round drum magazine with us, since the high rate of fire means the magazines are empty faster than you can blink.
With this setup, you have a submachine gun that kills extremely fast at short range... and is useless anywhere else. Always stick to small rooms and winding parts of the maps and avoid open areas. If you are able to do so, you're gonna have a great time with the MAC 10.
